Everton are making a surprise move for Tammy Abraham, potentially hijacking Aston Villa's plans to bring him back to the Premier League!
It's a transfer saga heating up fast. Abraham, currently playing in Turkey, has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League this month. Aston Villa has been working hard to secure a deal before the February 2nd deadline. But here's where it gets controversial: Everton is now reportedly in the mix, potentially throwing a wrench into Villa's plans.
Reports indicate that Roma is open to accepting an offer for Abraham. However, there's a significant hurdle: Besiktas currently has Abraham on loan with an obligation to buy. This adds complexity to any potential deal. Unai Emery and his team at Aston Villa have been trying to reach an agreement, but Everton might now thwart their efforts.
Former Aston Villa executive Keith Wyness believes Abraham would be a success back in the Premier League. Abraham has been away from English football for over four years.
Villa has already made an initial offer of £15.6 million, according to Turkish sources. But the competition is fierce. Everton and Nottingham Forest are reportedly considering bids to match that amount. Besiktas has reportedly told Villa they must pay over £17.3 million, or include Evann Guessand in a player-plus-cash deal. Villa is hesitant to lose Guessand, who they recently signed. They are still negotiating with Besiktas over Abraham's fee, and the player's preference is reportedly to return to Villa Park.
Aston Villa fans are eager for Abraham's return, remembering his contribution to their promotion back to the Premier League during a loan spell in the 2018-19 season.
Sabah suggests that Abraham is considering the contract offer from his former loan club. Villa is planning a four-and-a-half-year deal with an annual salary of £4 million, equivalent to a weekly wage of approximately £77,000.
With Everton and Forest also eyeing a move, Villa faces increasing pressure. The fact that Abraham seems interested in their offer could be a deciding factor.
